Madame Tussaud's Hong Kong branch will make the wax figure of the late HK pop legend Anita Mui to share with her fans the loving memory of the former pop diva after she lost her life to cancer in 2003.
The wax figure is reportedly under secret construction in London, the birthplace of the world famous wax museum that has opened many branches around the world.
Anita's mother has shown full support on the project. She has been contacted by the London-based wax museum and has donated several of Anita's items to help make the wax figure.
Madame Tussaud's Hong Kong branch, which opened in 2000, has previously made wax figures of the late pop stars Teresa Teng and Leslie Cheung.
The current museums include wax models of well-known sports personalities, musicians, film stars and states people from around the world.
The Hong Kong branch features about 100 wax figures of international and local celebrities, including Chinese President Hu Jintao, Hong Kong pop star Andy Lau, British soccer star David Beckham, and Shanghai's NBA star Yao Ming.
