【明報專訊】歌手梅艷芳的遺產官司，纏擾4年終於暫告一段落。高等法院昨日裁定一直質疑遺囑是否有效的「梅媽」覃美金敗訴，宣布遺囑有效，即梅媽無法以無遺囑死者的遺產分配方式，以母親身分繼承梅艷芳的逾億元遺產。 [Ming Pao News]  Singer Anita Mui's estate lawsuit, after going back and forth for 4 years, has finally come to a stopping point.  The High Court yesterday ruled that plaintiff Mui Ma, who had persisted in her doubts about the will's validity, would not prevail, and declared the will legally valid.  As such, Mui Ma will not be able to take advantage of intestate laws, and inherit Anita's HK$100 million plus estate as Anita's mother. 聲言不滿女兒遺產遭人「一���談q人鋸」的梅媽，誓言要上訴至終審法院。 Mui Ma, who claims that her daughter's estate had been wrongfully divided and gobbled up by other people, declared that she would appeal to the highest court. 梅媽得悉敗訴後，坦言不會失望，更指「邊有官司打一次就贏鮁」，又揚言日後若取得遺產，會在西九興建梅艷芳紀念館，餘數則捐作慈善用途。 After losing her lawsuit, Mui Ma said she would not be disappointed, and added, "You never hear of winning lawsuits with just one fight."  She also said that if she gets the estate later on, she will build a museum in honor of Anita in Western Kowloon, and donate the remaining sums to charity. 其實這場官司無論輸贏，梅媽仍然是受益人之一。記者早前跟梅媽談這宗爭產案，聽到的是一個84歲老人家渴望對子女表達關愛，卻遭「多多阻撓」的怨氣，這或者可以解釋了她自「阿梅」梅艷芳死後引發一連串官司的動機。 Indeed, whether she wins or loses, Mui Ma still remains one of the beneficiaries.  This reporter discussed the lawsuit with Mui Ma recently, and heard the story of an 84 year old elderly person expressing a fervent desire to show her care and love to her children, but was allegedly barred or disallowed from doing so.  From that angle, one could perhaps understand why, after Anita's death, Mui Ma initiated a series of lawsuits. 1950年代，肚�媄h了阿梅的梅媽從內地帶覑子女來港，丈夫卻遭民革牽連而失蹤，她在人生路不熟的香港徬徨無助，卻沒有打掉胎兒的想法，「見步行步囉！」，就是這個信念，保住了阿梅這名1990年代的樂壇天后。 In the 1950's, while pregnant with Anita, Mui Ma brought her children from mainland China to Hong Kong, but her husband was implicated in the Cultural Revolution and disappeared..  Mui Ma, helpless in unfamiliair surroundings, did not think of giving up her baby.  "I thought I would just go one step at a time!"  Because of this conviction, the future canto-pop queen was thus able to be born. 梅被摑後躲媽媽家中逾月 無論在庭上作供，還是在與記者的訪問中，梅媽多番提及說過要嫁給舞台的阿梅「入錯行」，甚至累死自己。梅媽口中的「錯」，並非指阿梅選錯發展方向，而是指娛樂圈人事太複雜，再加上阿梅好勝、仗義，令她一步一步走向死亡。 No matter whether it was in court giving her testimony, or during her interview, Mui Ma repeatedly mentioned how Anita, who had declared she wanted to be married to the stage, had "entered the wrong profession," to the point of bringing about her death.  The "mistake" in Mui Ma's mind is not that Anita chose the wrong path for herself, but that the entertainment industry was very complicated.  In addition, Anita liked to win, and also liked to help out all her friends, which brought her closer and closer to her death. 梅媽透露，92年阿梅被人掌摑，事後個多月她一直躲在梅媽家中，足不出戶，當時梅媽已勸女兒「不要再玩」，覑她引退，但她指「已叉鰦隻腳入去，返唔到轉頭」。 Mui Ma revealed that when, in 1992, Anita got involved in a case of gang violence, she stayed with her mother for over a month and never went out.  At that time, Mui Ma had already counseled her daughter not to "continue with her ways," and urged her to retire, but Anita responded, "I'm already deep in the trenches, I cannot return."

在娛樂圈中以「義氣仔女」見稱的阿梅，在梅媽眼中亦是一名孝順女，過時過節定會回家吃飯，年年也會做東筵開數十席為媽媽賀壽。但梅媽稱，每次過節阿梅回來，總有一大班朋友跟覑熱熱鬧鬧，但她能與女兒真真正正促膝談心的時間卻不多。

Known in entertainment circles for her loyalty towards her friends, Anita was also a very good and caring daughter in Mui Ma's eyes.  Whenever there were any holidays or festivals, she would always return home for dinner with her mom, and every day Anita would plan a large-scale banquet to celebrate her mother's birthday.  But Mui Ma said, every time Anita came home for the holidays, she always had a big group of friends with her, and in the commotion, Mui Ma was unable to spend a lot of time to discuss things deeply with Anita.

梅死前兩天 始知女兒入院

梅媽坦言在阿梅身邊的酒肉朋友居多，真正痛惜她的卻沒有幾人。梅媽憶述，女兒公開患病後的生日會，女兒的朋友「明知阿梅好勝，真係惜佢就唔會抬幾箱紅酒上去，應該勸佢唔好飲，而唔係同佢一齊飲！」結果阿梅當晚喝醉了，梅媽在旁心痛又氣憤。

Mui Ma said that Anita was surrounded by a lot of casual friends, but only a few truly cared about her.  Mui Ma remembered, after Anita publicly declared her illness, Anita's friends still brought many cases of red wine to the Anita's birthday party, even though they knew Anita always wanted to win in these kinds of drinking contests.  She thinks they should have urged Anita not to drink, rather than drink with her.  Ultimately, Anita got drunk, and Mui Ma was both sad and angry as a witness to that scene.

阿梅死前一個月，帶病仍要往天寒地凍的日本拍廣告，梅媽曾力勸女兒不要起行，但女兒當時只說﹕「答應了人一定要做。」說到這�堙A梅媽眼眶紅了一圈，黯然的道﹕「她們兩姊妹都過不了41歲。」白頭人送黑頭人的痛，梅媽嘗了兩次。

A month before Anita died, Anita still insisted on going to a very cold Japan (Kyoto) to film her final ad for the beauty salon.  Anita simply said, "I must complete it since I promised people I would."  At this point of the story, Mui Ma's eyes reddened, and sadly sad, "The two of them [Anita and Ann] could not make it pass 41 years old."  Mui Ma experienced twice the pain of having to attend the funeral of two children as a parent.

梅媽指阿梅去日本拍廣告後，便一直跟她失去聯絡，電話一是沒人接，一是接聽的人稱阿梅正在休息，覑梅媽不要打擾。即使每天早晚拿燕窩、齋菜給女兒，也是無法見女兒一面，更不知原來女兒已身在醫院跟病魔作終極一戰。

Mui Ma pointed out that once she finished her work in Kyoto, Anita lost touch with Mui Ma.  Her phone would either not be picked up, or if it were picked up, somebody would say Anita was resting and that Mui Ma can't disturb her right now.  Even though morning and night Mui Ma would bring swallows' nests and vegetarian dishes to her daughter, she never got to see Anita, and definitely did not know that in fact her daughter was already in the hospital fighting for her life.

直至2003年12月28日，即是阿梅死前兩天，阿梅已陷入昏迷，醫院因要人簽紙替阿梅洗肝，梅媽才獲通知女兒已入院，她再次見到女兒時，阿梅已不能睜眼及說話，她能做的，只是守在脇邊摸摸阿梅微暖的臉龐。

Until December 28, 2008, two days before Anita passed away, Anita slipped into a coma.  The hospital needed authorization to purge Anita's liver, and it was only then that Mui Ma finally received notice that her daughter was in the hospital.  By the time she saw Anita, Anita's eyes were already closed and was unable to speak.  All Mui Ma could do was stay by her bedside and lightly feel Anita's slightly warm face.

喪禮「假諮詢」 警助取回骨灰

到了30日凌晨，儘管梅媽要求醫生為阿梅打針續命，但亦明白這只會徒添阿梅的痛苦，最終在女兒的耳邊勸她放手﹕「我跟她說既然你揀得呢條路，你就走啦，你有咩心事放唔低？你係咪想見你大哥，不如我叫佢返鈬睇你好唔好？」她清楚記得，閉上眼的阿梅不斷流淚，枕頭也濕透。

In the early morning hours of December 30, even though Mui Ma asked the doctors to inject Anita with medicine to sustain her life, she also understood that it would only prolong Anita's suffering.  Finally, she spoke into Anita's ears.  Mui Ma said, "I told her that since you chose this path, you should go.  Is there anything you still can't leave behind?  Do you want to see your brother?  Would you like me to tell him to come back and see you?"  She clearly remembered that Anita, with her eyes closed, was crying the entire time, and her pillow was wet with her tears.

隨覑到來跟阿梅道別的人愈來愈多，梅媽跟阿梅的距離愈拉愈遠，最後退到阿梅的脇腳，未幾，她只聽到阿梅駁覑的心跳儀器停頓，在她身邊的喇嘛開始念經。

女兒走了，流淚是最自然不過的事，但梅媽指被在場的劉培基勸告，說若親人的眼淚落到阿梅的腳上，阿梅便走不了。隨後梅媽稱被人半拖半推的帶離病房，到了相連的休息室，卻看到阿梅的徒弟在談笑風生。

After that, more and more people came to bid Anita farewell, and caused Mui Ma to be separated further from Anita, until she was at the end of Anita's bed.  After a while, she would the heart sensor stop, and the lamas by her bedside began their chants.  Her daughter had left, and it was natural for her to cry, but Eddie Lau urged her not to cry, because if a relative's tears dropped on Anita's feet, Anita's soul won't be able to leave.   After that, Mui Ma claims she was ushered out of the room to the adjoining resting area, but she saw Anita's proteges talking as if nothing had happened.

阿梅的身後事全由其友人一手包辦，最令梅媽不滿的，是這邊廂他們向她徵詢意見，那邊廂一切原來早已安排好了，她的意見根本不被採納，及後她為了取回女兒的骨灰更要驚動警方。

審訊期間證人曾透露孝順的阿梅，為了不欲母親擔心而隱瞞病情，就連入院亦不通知梅媽。跟梅媽談了半天，記者感受最深的是，無論任何人的出發點是對是錯，父母對子女的關愛是理所當然的，梅媽卻被剝奪了這種機會。

Anita's funeral was handled by all of her friends.  The one thing that was most upsetting for Mui Ma was that even though they asked for her opinions and ideas, they had already arranged for everything already, and her ideas were not accepted.  When she tried to get her daughter's ashes, she had to enlist the help of the police.  During the trial, testifying witnesses indicated that Anita, because she was a caring child and did not want Mui Ma to worry, decided not to tell Mui Ma about her illness, not even after she had entered the hospital.  After talking with Mui Ma for a long while, this report's strongest feeling is that no matter what people's intentions were, and regardless of whether they were right or wrong, parents' care and concern for their children are justified and natural, but Mui Ma was stripped of that opportunity.

官裁梅艷芳清醒 遺囑有效

【明報專訊】已故歌星梅艷芳億元遺產案於兩周前審結，掀起官司的梅媽覃美金日前遭范家碧律師行，入稟追討20萬元律師費，律師行指遺產案正式開審前一直代表梅媽，惟梅媽於今年初突然撤換律師，並開出空頭支票。

現每月有12萬元生活費、早前遭入稟申請破產的梅媽，已非首次遭入稟追債，她早前被雅士賓(香港)有限公司兩度申請破產，該公司於05年指她租用北角永興街一個舖位，用作「世界防癌協會」會址，但拖欠租金5.4萬元。

梅媽的破產案曾於本月21日在聆案官前提訊，惟梅媽聲稱抱恙在身，案件押後至6月2日再提訊。

(Mingpao)  The day before yesterday, that's 2 weeks after the trial of Anita Mui's estate case closed, Mui Ma was sued by 范家碧 law firm for unpaid service fee of HK$200K.  This law firm represented Mui Ma all the time before the case started trial, but Mui Ma changed to another lawyer at the beginning of this year, she had also written a check that has been bounced.  It's not the first time she got sued for debts.  Earlier she has been filed for bankruptcy by  雅士賓(HK) Ltd, for a shop space at Wing Hing Street, North Point, for unpaid rent of HK$54K, this bankruptcy trial scheduled for 21st of this month.  However Mui Ma claimed that she was sick, the trial will be delayed till June 2, 2008.
　

另外，梅媽在遺產案開審前一周，在短時間內委聘趙司徒鄭律師事務所，由資深大律師陳志鴻代表出庭，這宗遺產爭奪戰審訊歷時16天，倘若梅媽最後敗訴，相信要付巨額訟費。
　

Just one week before the estate trial, just within a very short period, Mui Ma asked the senior and  experienced attorney Chan Chi Hwan to represent her.  The estate case lasted for 16 days.  If Mui Ma lost the case, it's believed that she would have to pay huge fees.
　

20萬元支票不能兌現

原訴人為范家碧律師行在入稟狀指出，梅媽於去年5月7日延聘范家碧律師行作為其遺產案的代表律師，直至今年1月21日，梅媽通知法庭會親自出庭，毋須代表律師。入稟狀續指出，原訴人於去年5月8日至今年1月20日為梅媽提供法律服務，所有訟費及開銷總計26萬元。
　

范家碧 Law Firm said Mui Ma asked them to represent her for the estate case, but on 21 January of this years, Mui Ma notified them that she didn't need any legal representative, she would attend the trial herself.  They had provided her legal advise from May 8, 2007 till January 20, 2008, total charge is HK$260K

[Mingpao]  Anita Mui's estate lawsuit continued hearing yesterday.  Mui Ma testified as witness yesterday .  She talked about how she started her singing career, relationship between them, and explained all the adverse accusation from others.  Mui Ma stated how the daughter told her all her thoughts during the Mid Autumn Festival before she passed away, she regretted that she "stepped into wrong industry ", but in order to be responsible to others, therefore [had to work for money till she died].  Mui Ma said, Mui won the the New Singer Contest, but that [destroyed her whole life].

現年84歲的覃美金在庭上憶述，當梅4歲時，發現她有歌唱天分，梅媽開始栽培她唱歌，並先後開辦藝術學院、歌舞劇團和經營歌廳，梅與胞姊梅愛芳亦展開表演生涯。梅媽強調，一直以來梅很喜歡唱歌，她從沒有逼梅演唱，當年兩女兒在荔園雖然有百多元收入，但要為兩人置裝，故沒有掙多少錢。

Mui Ma, now 84 in age, recalled that when Mui was 4, she realized that she had talent in singing, Mui Ma started to develop her in singing .  She founded institution of arts, singing and dancing troupe and managed singing parlor, and Mui and her sister, Ann Mui, started their performing life.  Mui Ma emphasized that Mui always enjoyed singing, she never forced Mui to sing.  At that time, the 2 daughters could make bit over HK$100 in Li Yuan Playground, but she had to buy clothes and accessories (for performing) for them, so wasn't really making too much money.

指參加新秀「害鰦佢一世」

當梅17歲時，胞姐拿了新秀歌唱比賽的表格給梅，梅本不打算參加，只簽了名，其餘細節都由胞姐代填。梅媽形容此舉「害鰦佢一世」，指「不食愁眉飯，寧食開眉粥」，她解釋，自女兒入行後母女便很少看面，女兒經常外出，但過時過節一定會返家吃飯，公幹亦會每天致電給她。

When Mui was 17, Ann got the application form for the New Singer Contest for Mui.  Mui didn't plan to participate in the contest, so just put the signature , and left the details to Ann to complete the application.  Mui Ma described that this "destroyed the whole life of Mui".  She pointed out "don't eat rice that will bring sorrow, rather eat congee that will bring joy".  She explained that she seldom saw Mui after she started the singing career.  Mui went out often, but she would come home to dine with her during all festivals.  If she went overseas working, she would call her everyday.

梅媽又指出，2003年中秋節過後，梅請她到其恆安閣寓所，當日梅向她盡訴心中情，表示因為其他人已幫她安排好工作，就算帶病也要完成，並覑梅媽不要擔心；又指梅媽可靠收租維持生活，而她一定會戰勝癌魔，更說自己日後還要結婚。

Mui Ma stated that in 2003, after Mid Autumn Festival, Mui invited her to her residence at SouShan Hill Road.  On that day Mui told her all her thoughts from bottom of her heart.  Mui explained that the other people arranged all her work, so she had to finish those works even she was sick, she asked Mui Ma not to worry;  she also told Mui Ma she could survive by rental income.  But she would recover from cancer, and she even said she would get married in the future.

梅媽當時曾勸梅退休，但梅說「媽，我入錯行」，又表示要為很多人負責，「做到死都要搵錢」。梅媽指出，梅的甥女曾向梅表示想入娛樂圈，梅則對她說﹕「我情願扼死你都唔畀你入行。」

On that day Mui Ma asked Mui to retire, but Mui said: [Mom, I stepped into wrong industry].  She said that she had to be responsible to many people, [Have to make money till die.] Mui Ma said, Mui's niece wanted to work in entertainment industry, Mui told her: [I would rather strangle you than let you work in that industry.]

梅媽極力否認揮霍無度的指摘，表示自己不賭錢不去旅行，連衣服也穿數十年，但承認在梅過世後4年間，曾有逾1000萬元保金、買賣物業收入，但現在「乜財產都無」。

Mui Ma strongly denied that she spent money lavishly.  She said she doesn't gamble, doesn't go traveling, she even wears  clothes for several tens years.  She admitted that during the 4 years after Mui passed away, she once had over HK$10 million,  from insurance, she did trading (bought and sold) properties for income, but now she [doesn't have any properties]

她否認在梅公布患病後向她索錢「傍身」﹕「我個女有咩事鱓錢都唔會畀邊個，我使乜要佢病時逼佢�姪�？」她又說，以往要錢便問梅，「如果我要成條街，個女都會買畀我」。

She denied that she asked Mui for "money for security" after Mui publicly announced that she had cancer.  She said: [If anything happened to my daughter, she would not give her money to anyone else, was it necessary for me to force her to give me money when she was sick?]  She added, in the past whenever she needed money, she would ask Mui for it, [If I wanted the whole street, my daughter would give it to me.]

案件下周三繼續，屆時雙方大律師便會開始結案陳辭，案件預計下周五審結。

The court trial will continue next Wednesday, the attorneys from both sides will deliver their closing statement, it's estimated the whole trial will end next Friday.

憶母親節收禮物即灑淚

慨嘆新秀奪冠「害了阿梅一世」
梅媽盡訴40年母女情
　

梅艷芳遺產案在暫停三日後復審。梅媽覃美金昨日特別請假出院到庭作供，由五十年前由內地來港起，娓娓道來與阿梅四十年的母女情。雖然女兒名成利就，但梅媽卻說「寧食開眉粥，不食愁眉飯」，慨嘆阿梅參加新秀歌唱比賽奪冠「害畄佢一世」。

梅媽表示，阿梅年僅四歲時，便顯露出其音樂天分，她便對阿梅和大女梅愛芳加以栽培。阿梅在八二年參加新秀大賽，原來亦只是無心插柳。梅媽表示，阿梅其實不想參加，連報名表也是姊姊代她填寫，阿梅只是簽名。結果阿梅贏得冠軍，成為她人生的轉捩點，梅媽現在回想，卻覺得「參加畄就害畄佢一世」，隨尠女兒愈紅，母女見面的機會便愈少。梅媽說「寧食開眉粥，不食愁眉飯」，母女間的隔膜，並不是金錢能夠彌補。

曾見過三四個男友
雖然不再同住，但梅媽指她與阿梅關係一直極好。她每天都會朝燉燕窩、晚煲湯水，拿給阿梅享用。

阿梅每次拍拖，都會帶男友跟她吃飯見面。梅媽說她見過阿梅三四個男友，最後一個便是曾被雜誌拍攝到拍拖照的武打影星趙文卓。不過她說每次見過家長後，女兒都會和男友分手收場，臈她不明所以。

阿梅情路上一直未能開花結果，不過她始終未有放棄結婚的夢想。梅媽憶述在○三年中秋，即梅艷芳死前數月，阿梅叫她到其住所，向她傾吐心事。她指出阿梅當時說一定會戰勝癌魔，還答應在○四年為她補辦大壽。阿梅還向她展示大批鑽石首飾，說要送贈予她，但要留起一粒，他日結婚時用來鑲在婚戒上。

...Mui  promised Mui Ma she would throw a birthday party for Mui Ma in 2004.  Mui also showed her lots of diamond jewelries, and said would give them to Mui Ma.  But she would save a big piece for herself, that would be for her wedding ring when she got married in future.

梅媽說起女兒時盡現慈愛，但是當談到其他人卻不時顯露其剛毅本色。對於阿梅契媽何傅瑞娜稱，梅媽曾經問她借錢，以及阿梅抱怨梅媽在知她患癌後，卻只問她要錢傍身，梅媽昨力稱何太「全部講大話」。她回應說：「（阿梅）有咩事，皷錢唔會畀畄邊個，我使乜砜佢病碹時問佢癦？……我要成條街，個女都買畀我啦！」

When Mui Ma talked about her daughter, she was full of affection, but when talked about other people, she showed her strong character.  About Mrs Ho's previous accusation  that Mui Ma once borrowed money from her, and Mui complained that Mui Ma asked her for money after she publicly announced that she had cancer, Mui Ma strongly denied about it, [total lies.]...

指何太阻與女見面
她又爆出在阿梅入院前的演唱會期間，她花十多萬買人參，燉好參水拿去會場給阿梅喝，卻被何太擋住，不准她與女兒見面。她抱怨阿梅入院後被人隔離，到去世前兩天，她才被通知到醫院。

對於長子梅啟明二十年前經營狗場欠款離港，以及傳言阿梅為梅媽的抗癌協會與母反目，梅媽都另有說法。她指阿梅當年答允為兄長狗場作擔保，後來聽人唆擺改變主意，梅啟明才一怒離港，欠款是梅媽用自己拿積蓄清還。她又指阿梅一直都反對她搞抗癌會，她不覺與女兒意見分歧。

...Mui Ma said Mui didn't like her to run the anit-cancer association, but she didn't feel they had difference of opinions.

隨尠梅媽完成作供，本案便進入結案陳詞。法官昨決定將案押後至下周三再審，當日會由梅媽的律師先作結案陳詞。

兩次喪女痛 大狀亦動顏

【本報訊】明天是母親節，普天下的母親都與子女共享親情的溫暖。但經歷兩次喪女之痛的梅媽，卻要在佳節之前，向法庭訴說亡女生前種種，不但言者傷心，連在旁聆聽的大律師亦深受感動。

梅媽五十年代由內地申請來港，取得身份證後再接兩子一女來港定居。因丈夫是地主階級被囚禁，她花盡錢財也只能讓他保釋半個月團聚。怎料返港之後，她卻發現竟再度懷孕，阿梅便是這樣來到人間，可惜終其一生，始終未見過父親一面。

Mui Ma came to Hong Kong in 50s, after she got the HK identity card, she brought her 2 sons and 1 daughter to Hong Kong to settle down.  As her husband was landlord, he got imprisoned.  She had spent all her money but only got him bailed for half a month for re-union.  It was unexpected that after she returned to Hong Kong, she found she was pregnant, that's how Mui came into this world.  It's a pity that she never saw her father once during her life.

強調表演收入置裝都不夠
梅媽來港後日間做中醫，晚上則穿梭大小舞廳，向舞小姐兜售化妝品，獨力撐起全家生計。那時她有個當樂手的表弟，周末常到她家作客，還帶朋友來玩音樂。阿梅四五歲時愛看他們表演。一日小阿梅說：「（表）舅父，我唱支歌你聽璢，我識唱《賣花女》。」表舅父叫她表演，她還懂「老積」地回答：「你都冇玩禝（指伴奏）。」表舅父聽後驚覺她甚有天分，提議表姊多加栽培。梅媽便轉業辦藝術學院，收生之餘亦聘人臈阿梅和梅愛芳唱歌跳舞。後來更在灣仔租單位開歌廳。她強調阿梅姊妹少時表演收入甚少，連置裝費都不夠支付，反駁「賣唱養家」的說法。

阿梅在九七年的母親節，曾將她一首國語歌《月光》獻給母親，並把歌詞送給母親作禮物。昨日梅媽講及此事時終忍不住情緒，兩行眼淚奪眶而出。此時其代表大律師目睹此情此景，亦不禁眼眶發紅，結果法官需下令暫時休庭。梅媽昨接受盤問時，被律師指她自阿梅死後，保險金加投資物業的收入達千萬元。但她否認自己揮霍無度。她指「娛樂界好多人砼大佬老母賭輸錢，點解冇人講，淨係蝦我璢！」

[Ming Pao News] Singer Anita Mui's estate lawsuit continued yesterday.  Ming Pao has learned that Anita's mother Tam Mei Kam will give her testimony in court early next week.  The neurologist summoned by Mui Ma's party, Dr. Edmund Woo Kin Wai, continued his testimony yesterday.  He surmised that the day after Anita signed her will and trust documents, she was already in the second stage of hepatic encephalopathy, and that the condition did not occur all of a sudden.  Given that, he believes it is not possible to ascertain whether Anita's brain functions were normal on the day she signed her will.  Dr. Woo will resume his testimony on Friday, and will be cross-examined by the defendants' two attorneys.  The hearing will resume this Friday.

【本報訊】曾於多宗爭產案，包括龔如心和家翁王庭歆爭產案中作專家證人的余若薇丈夫、腦科醫生胡健維，繼續在已故天后梅艷芳的一億元遺產案作供。他指梅艷芳於03年12月3日立遺囑當天，沒有記錄阿摩尼亞的含量，從而不能正確推斷她當時是否已患上肝性腦病，以及腦部運作會否因此受到影響。他解釋肝性腦病並不易被診斷，但該病並非突發性，梅艷芳翌日的阿摩尼亞指數達99，遠高於正常水平，他自然懷疑她是否有足夠的精神立遺囑。他稱肝性腦病共分四期，推斷梅艷芳立遺囑時已屬第一期，翌日已是第二期。同時，她因肝臟功能不能正常運作，引致膚色變黃。

The neurologist, Dr. Edmund Woo Kin Wai stated that on Dec 3, 2003 Mui signed the will, but there was no record kept for her ammonia lever, therefore could not make inference if Mui already contracted hepatic encephalopathy, and if her brain function got affected.  He explained it's not easy to diagnose hepatic encephalopathy, but it's not idiopathic (all of a sudden).  Based on the ammonia level of 99 on the following day, it was far above the normal level.  Naturally he suspected if her mental condition was good enough to set up the will.  He explained that there was 4 stages of hepatic encephalopathy, he inferred that her hepatic encephalopathy was already  1st stage on the day when she signed the will, in 2nd stage on the following day.  Also, her liver could not function properly, which caused her skin turn yellow.

梅媽或將於下周作供

　此外，胡醫生又指梅艷芳在12月3日清晨一時許曾服食影響神志的藥物，相信在同日早上11時立遺囑時體內仍留有一定份量，影響當時的精神狀況。梅媽方面的醫生證人預計在本周作供完畢，84歲的梅媽覃美金或將於下周作供。

Besides, Dr Woo pointed out that in the early morning, 1:00am of Dec 3,  Mui took some medicines which would affect her state of consciousness, he believed that at 11:00am in the same morning, when she signed the will, a certain amount of the medicines would still remain in her body, which would affect her mental condition at that time.

[Ming Pao News]  Anita Mui's estate lawsuit continued yesterday in the high court .  New Horizon Buddhist Association [one of the beneficiaries] summoned a psychiatry expert as witness.  The expert pointed out that based on Anita's principal oncologist's descriptions and related information, it is his opinion that when Anita signed her will and the papers for establishing her trust, her mental functions and capacity were normal.  He also indicated that Anita never experienced hepatic encephalopathy. 

葵涌醫院精神科及老齡精神科顧問醫生余枝勝，昨以專家證人身分出庭，指根據梅主診醫生張文龍及其他人的證供，再預計梅當時的精神狀態，如梅接受一個正式的精神狀態及記憶力測試，一定可以通過測試。

Kwai Chung Hospital's Psychiatry and Elderly Psychiatry Ward's consultant-physician Yu Zi Seng appeared in court yesterday as an expert witness.  He said that based on Anita's principal doctor Cheung Man Lung and other people's testimonies, and his estimation of Anita's mental capacity at that time, if Anita took a formal mental state examination and memory test, she would undoubtedly pass the test.

張文龍早前供稱，梅簽署遺囑及信託契約翌日，即2003年12月4日，她出現「肝昏迷」徵狀，並認為梅屬「肝昏迷」的第一階段。惟余醫生昨在庭上指出，雖然梅於12月4日其血內阿摩尼亞含量超標，且出現肝衰竭現象，但認為她未有「肝昏迷」，指血內阿摩尼亞含量偏高與「肝昏迷」沒有必然關係。

Dr. Cheung (principal oncologist) earlier testified that the day after Anita signed her will and trust documents (December 4, 2003), she showed symptoms of early stages of hepatic encephalopathy.  But Dr. Yu yesterday said, even though Anita's ammonia levels in her blood exceeded normal levels on December 4, and showed signs of liver failure, he doesn't think she really had hepatic encephalopathy.  Ammonia levels in one's blood trending high does not necessarily mean one would experience hepatic encephalopathy. 

梅媽覃美金的專家證人、腦科醫生胡健維，指從梅03年7月至12月的病歷資料看來，認為有足夠的臨脇及化驗證據，證明梅患上「肝昏迷」。但余醫生不認同，反指胡所得到的證據不夠全面。

Mui Ma's expert witness, neurologist Wu Kin Wai, said that based on Anita's medical records from July through December, he believes there is enough observational and analytical data to prove that Anita contracted hepatic encephalopathy.  But Dr. Yu disagreed, and countered that Dr. Wu's evidence was not comprehensive.

精神科醫生供稱 阿梅立遺囑清醒

【本報訊】涉及1億元資產的梅艷芳遺產案進入第10天。妙境方面昨日提出，庭上播放兩段梅艷芳的告別演唱會片段，合共長8至9分鐘，由葵涌醫院精神科及老齡精神科顧問醫生余枝勝(見圖)，於庭上評估她當時的精神狀態，梅媽方面回應需看畢整個片段才決定是否反對。法官張舉能反問，演唱會在11月發生，此舉是否能評估她在12月3日立遺囑時的精神狀況，及指妙境方面未作正式申請，今天再議。

[Wenweipo]  Yesterday, in the court, 妙境Buddhist Association  requested to play 2 sections of Anita Mui's Classic Moment Live Concert, total 8 to 9 minutes, to let Kwai Chung Hospital's Psychiatry and Elderly Psychiatry Ward's consultant-physician Yu Zi Seng appraise the mental condition of Anita Mui at the time.  Mui Ma's party said that they would reply after watch the whole video and then decide if to object .  The Judge Cheung asked that the concert took place in November, so whether it could reflect the mental condition of Mui on Dec 3, also he pointed out that 妙境 never made formal application, so would discuss about it today.

　此外，余枝勝醫生作供指梅艷芳在立遺囑當天和翌日，都未患上肝性腦病。他反對梅媽方面的證人余若薇的丈夫、腦科醫生胡健維所指，梅於立遺囑時，肝性腦病影響她的精神狀況，認為胡健維的結論欠缺足夠的臨床觀察。梅媽方面遂指出，梅艷芳的主診醫生張文龍也懷疑，梅在12月4日患上肝性腦病，余醫生的說法是在質疑張文龍的能力，余解釋兩人只是在肝性腦病的判斷不同。

When  But Dr. Yu stated that Mui was not affected by hepatic encephalopathy on Dec 3.  Mui Ma's party stated that even Mui's attending doctor Cheung suspected Mui got hepatic encephalopathy on Dec 4, then Dr Yu was questioning the capability of Dr Cheung.  Dr Yu explained that they just had different judgment about hepatic encephalopathy.

　余承認在12月2日至4日，包括梅立遺囑當天，她的肝功能已衰竭，但強調當時梅未有肝性腦病的病徵。他雖沒有醫治梅艷芳，但根據臨床紀綠，認為她是有足夠的精神狀況下成立遺囑和信託基金，即使當天進行測試，推斷她也可獲得高分，甚至滿分。

Dr Yu admitted that on Dec 2 to Dec 4, including the day on which Mui signed the will,  Mui's liver function already suffered failure, but he stressed that she didn't have symptoms of hepatic encephalopathy.  Though he didn't treat Mui, but by clinical records, he believed Mui's mental condition was good enough to set up will and the trust.  Even a test was taken on that day, he inferred that she would get high score, or even full score

But for those who experienced the pains of SARS, and survived, SARS’ aftermath still affects them every day, and will affect them and their offspring for the rest of their lives.

SARS 康復者利太(化名)，5年來仍活在SARS的陰影下，誕下的兒子亦不幸發展遲緩，4歲還無法揮手「拜拜」，為免觸及傷痛回憶，家中電視長關，就連報紙也不買，以免看到關於SARS的一絲一毫。另外一名康復者黃女士，病癒後一直擔心無法負擔女兒海外升學的費用，幸得茁壯行動撥款，喜見女兒月內學成歸來，更因此重新思索當日得病到底是禍是福……

SARS survivor Mrs. Li (disguised name) has been living under the shadow of SARS for the past five years.  The baby to whom she gave birth is still experiencing developmental difficulties.  Four years old now, but he is still unable to wave goodbye.  To block out those painful memories, they keep their TV off, and won’t even purchase newspapers, to avoid any mention of SARS.  Another recovered victim, Ms. Wong, continually worried about her ability to send her daughter overseas to continue her education.  Thanks to the “Project Blossom” support, her daughter will be graduating in just a few months, which caused her to reconsider whether her bout with SARS was a misfortune or actually a blessing.

【明報專訊】「阿女有書讀都係多得『阿妹』！」說起茁壯基金，SARS康復者黃女士的一句話令記者聽得一頭霧水，黃女士解釋，她口中的「阿妹」，其實是當年帶頭推動茁壯基金的藝人梅艷芳(阿梅)，「我和女兒都習慣叫基金做『阿妹』，我真的很感謝她，看到女兒畢業，就好像病癒步出醫院一樣開心！」

[MING PAO NEWS]  “It was only because of ‘Little Sister’ that my daughter was able to finish her education.”  As we discussed the Project Blossom Fund, SARS survivor Ms. Wong mentioned this name that bewildered the reporter.  Ms. Wong went on to explain, the one she was calling ‘Little Sister’ was actually the one who initiated the whole campaign - Anita Mui.
