Fate  1985    by Denise Ho

My fate with her started in 1985

It was December, my parents took me to the HK Coliseum where I watched the first concert in my life.  Sitting at the peak, I was mesmerized by the lightings and other stage effects.   But she was the real one that mesmerized me.  During the encore, she was lifted up at the centre of the stage from under the stage, wearing a white pearl studded evening gown, sparkling and resplendent, she performed [Walk my road alone].  That beauty with sadness impressed me deeply, till now I still can remember that picture.

That was her first concert, and it was the first concert I watched.

At that time, I was only 8.

It was under such an unexpected situation, Anita Mui changed (influenced?) my life.

A pair of silly Si-fu and student

Time always flies, already one year.

On the surface, it seems all have become quiet, life continues as normal, so does the work.

But, at this very moment,  when I'm asked to recall all kinds of memories Si-fu left to me, I really don't know where to start.

Really too many things that I can remember, I can recall, that can make me laugh or make me cry.

From a little fan to become one who has the honour  to accompany her to finish walking the last part of her journey in this life, the feeling and experience are far beyond my limited words of description.  The only thing I can say is that till today, I still think, it is the greatest honour of my life to be a student of Anita Mui.

I still remember that night, just as usual I had dinner with a group of her friends in her place.  Suddenly, she just said casually to me:

[Ho Siu Sze, I want to take you as my student, hoping I can help you in the future.]  At that moment, heard what she said, my heart throbbed with excitement, it was simply a dream came true!!!  But at that time, in front of her I could only stutter like a little fan, at such a historical moment, I only knew sitting there dully, and reluctantly replied:

[Har...really?...Good... thank you!]

Just like that, a pair of silly si-fu and student started such a relation in bewilderment.  No gold bowl or gold chopsticks, no Kowtow or presenting tea ceremony, but the sentiment was more practical than any traditional ceremonies.
