A Fantasy Working Group

At that time we invited Eddie Lau to be the image consultant, including packaging all CA singers. He recommended Chan Wan Ting to be the art designer for the albums. All of us were very lucky, because Ah Mui of the first contest was so volatile, she could sing, she could dance (at that time very few singers knew how to dance, especially female singers). Though she was new, she was very experienced on stage since she was young, not like normal new singers. Maybe she has been working in this world since very young, she is stubborn, but very faithful and loyal, very generous and nice to new singers, that is why she has very good relation with people and liked by all people. This [CA Big Sister] is fully qualified for this honor. It was a pity I only worked with her for a few years (1982 - 1986), as I left CA to start my own business.
It was lucky that we had this fantasy group to fight together in this music industry with Anita Mui: Eddie Lau was very a famous fashion designer at that time. We let him full freedom in developing Ah Mui, as Ah Mui was a new person, we had no pressure. As to Eddie Lau, packaging a new person might be a new trial for him, it was more diversified than his normal designing work. Chan Wan ting, recommended by Eddie Lau, was famous in album designing, but first time for singer and album design. Siu Tin just shifted from Lai Di, he must succeed but not to lose. To me, CA was a new company, must win too. Therefore all of us tried our best, to make best use of our own capability and to extend to the fullest. Power of unity was very strong, as being blessed with the best timing and human condition at that time, the sparkles from our work happened to be tremendously big.
I still remember that after the contest, Ah Mui went to see Eddie Lau for the first time. She wrapped herself in the jacket of jean material from head to waist. Eddie Lau looked at her, and frowned: [Take off all your clothes, let me take a look first..........] Wow! to strip? Ah Mui was completely shocked. Then she realized that she covered herself too tightly, Eddie Lau just wanted her to take off the jacket, Ah Mui then got relieved.

從現實奮鬥到夢幻組合－撮要
當時我們誠聘劉培基做形象顧問，負責包裝所有華星歌手，他推薦了陳幻堅做唱片美術設計，我們都很幸運，因為第一屆有阿梅的出現，她可塑性甚高，又唱得，又跳得（當時很少歌手能跳舞，尤其是女歌手），雖然說是新人，因自小舞台經驗豐富，不像一般新人。可能自小跑江湖，性恪雖倔強，但為人很講義氣，又疏爽，對後輩很提攜，所以人緣特別好，這位「華星大家姐」絕對不是浪得虛名的。可惜我只與她共事幾年（八二年－八六年）便離開華星創業去了。
更幸運的是，與梅艷芳同奮戰歌壇的一班夢幻組合：劉培基很出名，很當時得令的時裝設計師，我們都很放心讓他自由發揮，反正阿梅是新人，我們沒有太大壓力，但對劉培基來說，包裝新人，可能很有新鮮感，比他慣常的設計工作來得活。他推薦的陳幻堅，是著名唱片設計，但第一次做歌星及唱片設計，小田剛從麗的過來，肯定只許勝不許敗，對我來說，華星是新公司，要打響招牌，一樣唔衰得，所以大家都很用心去做，把各人的能量發揮到最高點，團結力量好強，配合天時地利人和，拚發出來的火花，竟是如許的大。
還記得選舉後，阿梅第一次往見劉培基，她用牛仔褸把自己由頭包到落腰，劉培基一看，眉頭都皺了：「除晒衫俾我睇下先．．．」嘩！除衫？把阿梅嚇得目定口呆，最後弄清楚，原來錯在穿得太密實，劉培基只是要她除外套而已，阿梅至此才鬆了一口氣。
