Ah Mui drinks Linzhi everyday 

備 受 子 宮 頸 癌 困 擾 的 梅 艷 芳 ， 近 日 被 傳 病 情 反 覆 ， 以 及 因 為 抗 癌 療 程 引 起 副 作 用 ， 影 響 到 肝 功 能 ， 要 入 住 養 和 醫 院 。 據 悉 梅 媽 為 助 愛 女 康 服 ， 早 在 兩 個 多 月 前 已 開 始 每 日 煲 靈 芝 水 給 阿 梅 服 用 ， 連 月 來 花 費 近 七 萬 。

Recently it has been circulated that Ah Mui's condition is unstable, because the chemo treatment has caused side effects, affecting the function of liver, and is hospitalized at HK Sanatorium.  Mui Ma for the past 2 months has spent close to HK$70 thousand on Linzhi to enable Ah Mui to recover.

患 上 子 宮 頸 癌 的 梅 艷 芳 近 日 被 傳 病 情 反 覆 ， 於 聖 誕 前 夕 入 住 養 和 醫 院 深 切 治 療 部 病 房 ， 由 於 阿 梅 不 欲 治 病 期 間 受 到 打 擾 ， 所 以 對 入 院 一 事 相 當 保 密 ， 並 透 過 助 手 Marianne 向 傳 媒 表 示 自 己 仍 在 家 中 休 養 。據 悉 ， 阿 梅 除 了 接 受 抗 癌 療 程 外 ， 曾 在 港 開 設 世 界 中 西 醫 學 抗 癌 協 會 的 梅 媽 ， 更 每 天 煲 靈 芝 水 給 阿 梅 補 身 。

As Ah Mui doesn't like to be disturbed during her stay in hospital, so her hospitalization is kept secret, and Marianne told the media she is only resting at home.  It is said, besides receiving treatment from the doctor, she is taking Linzhi that Mui Ma prepares for her.

盼 增 強 抵 抗 力

靈 芝 為 中 國 名 貴 藥 材 之 一 ， 據 稱 有 增 強 人 體 免 疫 能 力 及 預 防 癌 症 等 功 能 。 據 阿 梅 身 邊 好 友 透 露 ， 在 兩 個 多 月 前 ， 梅 媽 聽 取 好 友 意 見 ， 知 道 靈 芝 能 增 加 身 體 抵 抗 力 ， 便 開 始 每 日 煲 靈 芝 水 給 阿 梅 服 用 。據 悉 ， 梅 媽 是 於 灣 仔 一 藥 材 舖 購 買 靈 芝 ， 每 次 她 會 購 入 一 星 期 左 右 的 份 量 ， 然 後 藥 材 舖 店 員 將 每 日 服 用 的 靈 芝 份 量 和 其 他 藥 材 一 包 包 的 包 好 ， 方 便 她 每 天 煲 給 阿 梅 服 用 。

Linzhi is one of the very expensive Chinese herb, but it is said Linzhi can improve immunity and effective in prevention of cancer.  Ah Mui's good friend released the news that Mui Ma has prepared Linzhi drink for Ah Mui since 2 months ago, under the advice of good friends..  It is said, Mui Ma buys linzhi at a herbal medicine shop in Wanchai.  Every time she would buy enough quantity for a week or so, then it will be prepared with other Chinese herbs, and packed into several packs.

建 議 赴 美 就 醫

由 於 靈 芝 本 身 價 錢 昂 貴 ， 再 加 上 其 他 藥 材 在 內 ， 每 包 靈 芝 藥 材 起 碼 要 花 費 近 千 元 ， 梅 媽 在 這 兩 個 多 月 以 來 ， 已 為 阿 梅 花 掉 六 、 七 萬 元 來 購 買 靈 芝 。目 前 阿 梅 仍 在 養 和 醫 院 留 醫 ， 原 定 她 要 到 內 地 與 章 子 怡 和 劉 德 華 合 作 演 出 新 片 《 十 面 埋 伏 》 ， 但 據 知 她 已 正 式 推 辭 。 而 由 於 阿 梅 病 情 反 覆 ， 有 人 一 度 建 議 阿 梅 到 美 國 就 醫 。

Linzhi itself is very expensive, plus other herbs, each pack might cause close to HK$1,000.  So in 2 months, Mui Ma already spent close to HK$70 thousand on Linzhi.  For the time being, Ah Mui is still in HK Sanatorium. As Ah Mui is not stable, there are people suggesting Ah Mui to go to US for treatment.

最 近 梅 艷 芳 的 病 �G 引 來 不 少 揣 測 ， 不 同 的 傳 聞 版 本 也 是 一 面 倒 報 道 梅 艷 芳 的 病 �G 惡 化 。日 前 一 度 盛 傳 梅 艷 芳 在 養 和 醫 院 的 深 切 治 療 部 ， 後 經 阿 梅 的 經 理 人 Marianne 及 阿 梅 的 好 友 否 認 後 ， 又 有 一 份 周 刊 指 阿 梅 的 主 診 醫 生 已 為 她 停 止 化 療 及 電 療 ， 改 用 一 種 名 為 Anti-angiogensis 堵 塞 新 生 腫 瘤 血 管 生 長 的 「 訊 號 治 療 」 ， 報 道 又 謂 癌 症 病 人 若 接 受 化 療 及 電 療 無 效 後 ， 就 會 採 取 這 種 方 法 治 療 。目 的 是 延 長 病 者 的 生 命 。 同 時 有 報 道 指 梅 艷 芳 已 辭 演 張 藝 謀 電 影 《 十 面 埋 伏 》 。

There are so much speculation about Anita Mui's health condition, no matter whatever version, all are negative.  After Marianne denied that Ah Mui is in I.C.U. of HK Sanatorium, there is one weekly magazine wrote that Ah Mui's doctor already stopped using radio and chemo treatment on her, now using anti-angiogensis to stop the tumor growing.  It is said that this method is used only when  radio and chemo treatment can't control the tumor, it is used to prolong the life of the patient.  At the same time, it is said An Mui has decided not to take up the role in [Ambush].

另 外 ， 報 道 更 指 阿 梅 身 邊 不 少 好 友 都 不 可 以 直 接 找 到 阿 梅 ， 需 經 過 中 間 人 傳 話 ， 並 且 並 不 是 每 次 都 有 回 音 。

Besides, it is said many friends of Ah Mui could not find Ah Mui directly, they have to go through some middleman, and would not get reply all the time.

沒 有 惡 化 �[ 象

昨 日 記 者 就 有 關 傳 聞 向 梅 艷 芳 經 理 人 Marianne 求 證 。 她 稱 梅 姐 是 完 成 了 電 療 與 化 療 ， 並 沒 有 採 用 報 道 中 所 指 的 訊 號 治 療 。 醫 生 只 是 提 醒 梅 艷 芳 不 要 冷 親 ， 沒 有 其 他 大 問 題 。 目 前 醫 生 亦 不 斷 留 意 �� 腫 瘤 變 化 的 情 �G ， 沒 有 惡 化 �[ 象 。 外 界 要 是 關 心 梅 艷 芳 ， 便 不 應 再 作 這 些 令 人 憂 心 的 報 道 。

About this article, reporters contacted Marianne for clarification.  She said Ah Mui has finished radio and chemo treatment, and never uses this "signal treatment" as written in that article.  The doctor only told Ah Mui not to catch cold, there is no major problem.  For the time being, focus is on the condition of the tumor, but no sign that it is getting worse.  If people care about Ah Mui, then don't write so much that really cause worry to the readers.

Marianne 表 示 ： 「 我 都 睇 過 呢 篇 報 道 ， 但 睇 完 都 唔 知 呢 種 係 乜 藥 ？ 乜 治 療 ？ 我 都 未 聽 過 ， 而 阿 梅 由 始 至 終 都 只 係 接 受 正 常 治 療 ，話 阿 梅 好 朋 友 搵 唔 到 佢 ， 更 加 無 聊 ， 一 向 以 來 要 搵 到 阿 梅 朋 友 ， 自 然 會 搵 到 佢 ， 阿 梅 好 多 謝 大 家 關 心 ， 但 佢 始 終 係 病 人 ， 唔 可 以 全 部 人 都 畀 電 話 ， 更 加 唔 可 以 全 部 電 話 都 聽 ， 淨 係 我 ， 每 次 有 乜 消 息 傳 出 ， 我 個 電 話 收 到 百 幾 個 call ， 何 況 係 阿 梅 ， 希 望 大 家 可 以 體 諒 。醫 生 講 過 好 多 次 ， 之 前 照 唔 到 癌 細 胞 後 ， 要 check 一 年 左 右 都 冇 話 ， 先 係 完 全 康 復 ， 所 以 阿 梅 停 晒 化 療 ， 但 要 keep 住 做 身 體 檢 查 。 」

She said: [I have seen this article.  But don't know what medicine it is talking about?  What treatment? Never heard of.  Ah Mui only receives normal treatment.  It is ridiculous to say that friends can't find Ah Mui.  If those friends who want to find Ah Mui, they will find her.  Ah Mui thanks all those who care about her.  But she is an invalid, so can't call all people, or let her answer all the phones.  Even for me, once there is a rumor, I will receive more than 100 calls.  So I hope all will be considerate towards Ah Mui.  Doctor has said many times, when the cancer germs could not be found during last check up,  then have to be checked on  for about a year, if germs  still cannot be found, it it will be called recovered.  So Ah Mui has stopped chemo treatment, but has to keep on check up.]

談及阿梅近況，Mariane表示近日天氣轉冷，阿梅大部分時間均留在家中休息，以減少�馦D機會：「呢排天氣咁凍，冷親好易肺炎，所以盡量減少出街。（阿梅係咪停�}藥？）阿梅有食藥，但只係平時食開�輩陛I」

About Ah Mui's present condition, Marianne said as weather getting cold, Ah Mui stays at home most of the time, to reduce the chance of catching cold: [Weather is getting cold.  If catching cold, easy to get pneumonia, so try not to go out so often.  (Ah Mui stopped taking medicine?) Ah Mui still takes medicine, but just those she used to take.]

至 於 是 否 辭 演 《 十 面 埋 伏 》 ﹖ 她 稱 至 今 未 作 決 定 ， 未 正 式 向 張 藝 謀 辭 演 ，連 日 來 朋 友 的 忠 告 令 梅 姐 已 開 始 耳 仔 軟 考 慮 辭 演 ， 不 過 她 是 重 承 諾 的 人 ， 故 張 藝 謀 未 找 到 合 適 的 代 替 人 選 ， 她 便 不 肯 辭 演 。 早 前 阿 梅 與 張 藝 謀 接 洽 ， 對 方 仍 指 她 是 最 好 的 人 選 ， 至 今 事 情 未 有 定 案 。Marianne 說 ： 「 我 有 叫 劇 組 試 搵 其 他 人 ， 但 佢 好 想 阿 梅 做 到 ， 阿 梅 又 唔 想 一 鑊 蹺 起 人 ， 所 以 冇 正 式 辭 演 ，要睇一、二月天氣點，睇�w醫生同我畀唔畀佢拍！不過阿梅好想拍，因為唔想電影為�}佢而大亂！」

About resigning the role in [Ambush], Ah Mui still hasn't decided and hasn't sent notice to Zhang Zee Mou officially.  But persuasion from friends has made Ah Mui hesitate.  However, Ah Mui always honors her promises, so she won't resign until ZYM has found a replacement.  Ah Mui has contacted ZYM not too long ago, ZYM said that she is the best person,  so no final solution for the whole thing yet.  Marianne said: [We asked them to find some replacement for Ah Mui, but they like her to play the role.  Ah Mui doesn't like to cause trouble to all the people, she hasn't resigned officially.  Will see how is the weather in January and February.  It all depends on if the doctor and I will let her go.  But Ah Mui really likes that role, and she doesn't like to upset the whole movie because of her.]

Though there was speculation that Anita Mui's condition gets worse, her manager, Marianne, and her student, Denise Ho all denied that and said that they were at Ah Mui's home for party on Christmas Eve. However, Choy Yat Kit, the other student, said that Ah Mui was not at home that night.  Marianne attacked him that he wanted to use Ah Mui for promoting his new album.

Choy Yat Kit was at Commercial Radio promoting his new album yesterday.  When he was asked by reporters why he wasn't at Ah Mui's home for party on Christmas Eve, he replied:  [ I could not find her.  She was not at home.  But I tried to call her.]  Now people started to believe that Ah Mui was really in the hospital.  It was only a show that Denise Ho and etc. went to her home for party and left shortly after 8:00p.m.

Yesterday, the reporter contacted Marianne asking her how Ah Mui is, and told her what Choy said, she commented: [He wasn't invited.  Each individual can say whatever he likes, we won't make a reply.  He said all things, no other person said anything.  His new album will be released soon, needs promotion, so you all understand why he has so much to say .].  But Choy is Ah Mui's student, so the reporter was surprised that he was not invited to the party, Marianne said:  [According to my knowledge, they are not that close anymore in recent year.]

阿 梅 之 前 講 過 ， 明 年 會 繼 續 積 極 工 作 ， 但 Marianne 說 阿 梅 在 跟 �� 的 半 年 ， 都 會 聽 醫 生 話 ， 好 好 休 息 ， 暫 時 不 會 工 作 。 她 亦 希 望 大 家 體 諒 阿 梅 是 個 病 人 ， 大 家 不 要 再 對 她 的 病 作 不 實 的 揣 測 報 道 。

Ah Mui said before that she will continue to work next year.  But Marianne said Ah Mui will follow advice of doctor, she will rest for half a year.  She hopes that all understand that Ah Mui is a invalid, and hope there won't be further speculation on her health condition.

(其實沒有人會相信平安夜阿梅在家中.  如果在家, 為甚麼冬至那晚他們可以一兩點離開阿梅家, 平安夜八點幾就走人, 又說阿梅是病人, "病 人 仲 玩 到 天 光 咩".  同時安仔平安夜也沒有 party, 孤獨渡過.  為甚麼不去找梅姐?  其實梅姐身邊的人确已換了面目, 蔡一智等己不見陪伴阿梅出出入入.  但無論如何, 希望在這時刻不要互相攻擊, 只會激怒阿梅.  蔡一傑, 我們支持你!  同時阿梅在家也好, 在醫院也好, 希望她能渡過難關, 好好靜養, 快點康復起來.  我們耐心地等待著她! Since Anita Mui announced that she got cancer, there is never ending speculation about her health condition.  Recently it is circulated that she was in I.C.U.  Plenty media people are waiting outside the hospital.  However, her manager denied that Ah Mui went to the hospital, that only made people wondering and worry about Ah Mui more.

Anita Mui is a public figure, and an idol of many fans.  Her progress in her health condition is focus of her fans.  Actually Ah Mui is suffering from cervical cancer, not any normal sickness.  All people understand about it, so even she goes to hospital for check up or treatment is very normal.  It won't cause worry.  On the contrary, trying  to cover up on purpose will make people to have unnecessary speculation.

Spicy Soup (this the nick name of the writer of this article) thinks that the best way to handle this is:  frankly tell the people the truth.  If she is in the hospital for treatment, then admit it.  Paper can't wrap up the fire.  Sooner or later it will be known.  If it is not true, then please ask Ah Mui to show herself in public, let media take the picture, then rumor will automatically die away.  Otherwise there will just be more rumors.  Actually for a patient, rest is more important.  However since Ah Mui announced that she got cancer, she didn't take any rest, but continued to work, had concerts, went to Japan for the ad, also planned to take up the role in the movie of [Ambush].  Even for a person will good health would not stand so much work, not mentioning about Ah Mui who is sick.

放 棄 赴 內 地 拍 片 明 智
據 聞 在 好 友 、 親 人 的 勸 阻 下 ， 阿 梅 已 放 棄 拍 攝 《 十 面 埋 伏 》 ， 呢 個 的 確 係 一 個 明 智 決 定 ， 因 在 內 地 偏 遠 地 方 拍 攝 肯 定 好 辛 苦 ， 飲 食 難 作 苛 求 ， 在 工 作 的 壓 力 下 亦 難 以 好 好 休 息 ， 就 算 要 返 港 覆 診 ， 亦 要 經 過 長 時 間 的 舟 車 勞 頓 ， 在 惡 劣 的 環 境 下 ， 病 情 隨 時 會 急 轉 直 下 ， 又 何 必 如 此 冒 險 呢 ！ 與 國 際 級 的 導 演 合 作 固 然 難 得 ， 豐 厚 的 報 酬 亦 很 吸 引 ， 但 身 體 健 康 更 加 重 要 ， 麻 辣 湯 希 望 阿 梅 能 夠 下 定 決 心 ， 放 棄 一 切 工 作 好 好 休 養 ， 待 身 體 康 復 ， 再 戰 江 湖 也 不 遲 。

It is said that under the persuasion of friends and relatives, Ah Mui will give up her role in [Ambush].  This is really a very smart decision, because filming in remote part of  China is very hard work, difficult to get right food, pressure from work will deprive her of rest.  Even for medical consultation, she has to travel a long way to get it.  Under such bad circumstances, health condition will only get worse, why take such a risk!  To work with internal renowned director is a rare chance, pay maybe attractive, but health is still the most important.  Spicy  Soup hopes Ah Mui can make a final decision, stop all work to get a good rest.  When health is fully recovered, it is still not late to work again.

(True, Ah Mui is a public figure, but she is not a public figure with public duty.  So does she has to reveal all her private affairs including her health condition to the public? It is being circulated that the health condition of Anita Mui deteriorated.  It is said not only because her liver is not working properly that she had to be in I.C.U. of HK Sanatorium, it is also said that even chemo treatment fails to control her condition, she has already been transferred secretly to Queen Mary Hospital, 2 famous specialists in cancer are taking care of her and trying new medicine on her, hoping to control the speed of the changing of cancer germs.  Ss for the movie [Ambush], she really won't be able to work.  Ah Mui always likes to have companies, the night before, there was no party for Christmas Eve.  Only Denise Ho and W So went to her home for dinner around 7 o'clock and left after 8:00p.m.  Thus it can be seen that Ah Mui's health condition is not optimistic.

Ah Mui's manager, Marianne said yesterday: [We left early on Christmas eve, you still want an invalid to stay over night?  Also only a few of us, the mainly reason is XYZ not in HK.  Maybe will count down at New Year's Eve.]  If it is because of health, she has to resign her role at [Ambush]? [No, is because of cold weather in Beijing.  It might drop to -20 or -30 at that time, even normal people can't stand it.  So most probably she won't take up the job.  But afraid that will affect the plan of the production people, so we are waiting them to find replacement first, and then make the final decidion.]

Christmas Eve Ah Mui had turkey

Anita Mui hasn't been seen in public since she returned from Japan.  Recent news is that her health condition gets worse, yesterday it is even reported that she has already been secretly transferred to Queen Mary Hospital.  But, last night a bit after 6 0'clock, Marianne, Denise Ho and etc. arrived at her home one by one, they came to spend the Christmas eve with her.

They stayed there for more than an hour, and left around 8 o'clock.  Marianne was interviewed via phone, she said: [We came to dine with Ah Mui, we had turkey and fish, just plain type.  (How is appetite of Ah Mui?) Quite good.]  Marianne said they had other celebration, so all left after dinner. [Ah Mui is an invalid, needs more rest, so we told her to watch TV for a while and go sleep.  Not  all of us are here, we will gather together again later.]

Now all the adverse news about her health should be gone, and it is a piece of good news for her fans.  According to Marianne Ah Mui is planning a New Eve Party to welcome 2004 happily.

梅 艷 芳 近 日 又 傳 出 病 情 有 變 的 消 息 ， 昨 日 更 有 報 道 指 阿 梅 為 免 引 起 恐 慌 ， 而 要 化 名 入 院 ， 她 的 病 房 更 要 按 密 碼 才 可 進 入 。

Recently there have been news that Mui's health condition deteriorated.  Yesterday there was even report that in order to avoid fear among readers, An Mui had to check into the hospital under false name, and codes needed to enter her room in hospital.

Ah Mui's health condition becomes the focus.  Yesterday lots of media people waiting at HK Sanatorium.  But none of Ah Mui's good friends or her manager could be spotted.  However, around 12 noon, Shum Kin Fung appeared.  When he was asked about hospitalization of Ah Mui, he said he knew nothing.  He came just to visit Tina Lau's brother.  When they called Tina later, Tina admitted that her brother is in I.C. U., but she didn't want to tell them what's wrong with him.

Yesterday, the reporter contacted Ah Mui's manager, Marianne, she said: [That report has problem.  Ah Mui is resting at home.  Registered under different name in the hospital?  In HK, all hospital required patient to give true name.  About codes to enter her room, very creative thinking.  How can you have codes for entering patient's room?  If there is fire or problem with the computer, what can the patient do?  that is not logical according to fire regulation.  Please don't write anymore false information, and cause fear.  Ah Mui friends called me, weeping, and asked me if Ah Mui is having problem.  The 1st two phones, I can still comfort them, but when I received the 10th phone, I need people to comfort me instead.]

When asked about Shum Kin Fung in hospital, Marianne immediately said: [Any artists visit patient in hospital, don't put all in Ah Mui's account.  If you really love Ah Mui, then send her blessings, don't make so much stories.  Ah Mui is at home, she can eat and sleep.]

至於阿梅明年接拍廣告一事，她說：「��個健康食品好好，知道阿梅病就贊助好多畀佢食，話會對佢��病有用，但係之前阿梅食緊醫生��藥，都唔敢亂食其他藥。（係咪拍廣告？）呢個問題未傾。」

About Ah Mui will work for an advertisement next year, she said: [That health food "good, good", when they know Ah Mui sick, so they sponsor her many food, they say those food is good to her ailment.  But Ah Mui was taking medicine prescribed by the doctor, so dares not eat many other things. (Work for the Ad?) We didn't talk about that.]

Marianne said she knows that reporters are waiting at Ah Mui's home, day and night, but Ah Mui would not come out to greet those reporters.  Right now Ah Mui is looking forward to the Christmas party, hoping having dinner with a group of friends, but not wine or liquor is permitted (how about smoking?).  Also party would not last overnight, as they don't want to keep her away from resting.

About [Ambush], there will be a decision soon.  Only waiting Ah Mui to say "No".  All friends around her do not agree that she should not work for the movie, because it is too cold in Beijing.  It is circulated that her pay for this movie is US$300 (not exactly, it is said US$ 200 or 300), she said no such thing, she hopes that her pay is that high too.

Denise Ho was at Radio Station for a function, about Ah Mui had to registered in the hospital with another name, she laughed and said: [Acting? Use what name? Snoopy or Hello Killy, or Beckham?  She feel OK, she can eat. (Ah Mui is not to be the candidate  for the chair woman of the Guild ) Actually, she has worked very hard already for the Gild last year, so won't be the chairwoman next year.]

梅 艷 芳 由 日 本 拍 完 廣 告 返 港 後 ， 一 直 沒 有 露 面 ， 前 晚 突 然 傳 出 阿 梅 正 在 養 和 醫 院 深 切 治 療 部 ， 而 另 邊 廂 ， 阿 梅 最 疼 錫 的 徒 弟 何 韻 詩 與 XYZ 卻 出 現 阿 梅 寓 所 ， 阿 梅 到 底 正 身 在 深 切 治 療 部 ， 還 是 正 在 家 中 休 養 呢 ？

Ever since Anita Mui came back from Japan, she hasn't been seen.  The night before, suddenly there was rumor that she was in intensive care of HK Sanitarium.  But at the same time, it was said her most beloved student Denise and XYZ were at her house.  Was Ah Mui  really in Intensive Care or resting at home?

近 日 不 斷 傳 出 阿 梅 入 院 的 消 息 ， 並 有 報 道 指 阿 梅 因 接 受 化 療 被 藥 物 影 響 肝 臟 ， 而 要 入 院 洗 肝 。 在 消 息 滿 天 飛 下 . 梅艷芳前夜突傳出病情轉壞，並需入住醫院的深切治療部，惹來大批傳媒趕至養和醫院守候，可是由前夜至昨晚苦候多時，均不見與阿梅相關的人士出現；另一方面，傳出阿梅入院時，傳媒突然收到消息，XYZ及徒弟何韻詩，抵達阿梅寓所陪她做冬。

Recently there was news that Ah Mui has gone to the hospital, also it is said that chemo treatment has affected her liver treatment, she has to wash her liver.  When rumor is spreading everywhere, there was further news the night before that her condition deteriorated and had to be in the intensive care unit.  Many reporters rushed to HK Sanitarium waiting for news, but from the night before till last night, none of the people related to Ah Mui could been seen.  At the same time when there was news that Ah Mui was sent to the hospital, media got news that XYZ and Denise Ho arrived at Mui's home spending the Winter Solstice Festival with her.

記 者 聞 訊 即 兵 分 兩 路 ， 分 別 到 醫 院 及 阿 梅 屋 企 樓 下 守 候 。 直 至 昨 日 凌 晨 ， 醫 院 方 面 未 見 任 何 動 靜 ， XYZ及何韻詩聯袂往阿梅寓所，有說是陪她做冬，只見其家居窗邊布置了聖誕樹。凌晨一時許，阿梅經理人Marianne駕車到達，接近二時便接載何韻詩離開，阿詩戴帽並刻意垂低頭，而XYZ保母車則緊隨其後。

So some reporters waited at hospital and some at her home.  Till early morning of yesterday, nothing could be seen at hospital. But XYZ and Denise came to her home together to spend the Winter Solstice Festival with her.  Her home is decorated with Christmas tree.  A bit after 1:00a.m. Ah Mui's manager, Marianne arrived.  Around 2:00a.m. she left with Denise Ho, XYZ's van followed behind.

The media got information that Ah Mui is hospitalized for treatment of her liver mal function that was caused by side effect from the previous chemo treatment.  In order not to cause worry to the people, or cause speculation on her condition, and adverse report, Ah Mui likes to keep secret about her hospitalization.  Only her closest friends know the progress of condition, and all would not keep silent about her health condition.  If friends that are not that close to her call her, no matter what time, her maids at home would say she is sleeping.  So she can't be contacted.  

In order to be in low profile, she is not registered at the hospital under her own name.  Also her room has to be entered with a code.  She doesn't like to be disturbed.  Right now, she is under both  western and Chinese medical treatment.  Also everyday, she is under acupuncture treatment, hoping a speedy recovery and trying not to  "wash liver".

Yesterday Denise was at a public function, she said: [My mobile phone was "burst" with phone calls, all asking me if Ah Mui is at hospital.  When I received those calls, I was at Ah Mui's home.  Hope people who love Ah Mui, don't make so much speculation.  Some even weeping when called me.   Ah Mui won't be happy to see news on TV or paper reporting that her condition is deteriorating.]  As for her condition, she said she will let Ah Mui' manager to reply.  She added: [I always feel that Ah Mui is not suitable to work.  She finished the concert, that's it.  I hope she has more rest.] .

病 情 穩 定 否 認 洗 肝
而 阿 梅 的 經 理 人 Marianne 亦 不 滿 地 說 ： 「 我 衷 心 希 望 錫 阿 梅 人 唔 好 再 發 放 呢 嚇 人 消 息 ，傳 聞 雖 然 是 假 的 ，也 會 影 響 她 不 開 心 ， 真 心 惜 她 的 ， 傳 媒 不 要 再 製 造 恐 慌 ， 我 收 埋 阿 梅 屋 企 ， 停 晒 佢 所 有 工 作 ， 只 係 想 佢 好 好 休 息 ， 阿 梅 依 家 病 情 好 穩 定 ， 佢 係 有 入 過 醫 院 檢 查 ， 但 冇 入 過 深 切 治 療 部 ， 更 加 冇 洗 肝 ， 段 所 謂 洗 肝 報 道 講 到 好 嚴 重 ， 嚇 死 人 ！ 醫 生 只 係 開 藥 畀 阿 梅 保 護 個 肝 ， 因 為 食 咁 多 西 藥 始 終 好 傷 肝 。希 望 大 家 祝 福 她 ， 等 她 調 理 好 身 體 ， 幾 個 月 後 靚 靚 出 來 見 人 吧 。 」

Ah Mui's manager was not happy and said: [I really hope those who care about Ah Mui don't spread those terrible news anymore.  Those it is rumors, that will make her unhappy.  Media, if you really loves Ah Mui, then don't create more fear.  We keep Ah Mui at home, don't let her work, only wants her to rest.  Now her condition is very stable, she has been to the hospital, but never has been to the I.C.U. , never washed liver.  It sounds so serious that she has to wash liver, scare people to death.  The doctor only give her medication to protect the liver, as so much western medicines that really hurts her liver.  I wish all send her blessings, just wait her to recuperate, and see a pretty Ah Mui in a few months.]

Marianne 表 示 為 免 阿 梅 睇 到 這 些 報 道 不 開 心 ， 已 進 行 新 聞 封 鎖 ， 囑 工 人 把 有 關 報 道 的 報 紙 抽 起 ， 播 放 娛 樂 新 聞 時 把 電 視 關 掉 。 她 說 ： 「 但  如 果 畀 阿 梅 睇 到 一 定 好 嬲 ， 佢 一 定 會 鬧 『 做 乜 ， 幾 十 部 車 我 樓 下 ， 係 咪 想 見 到 我 畀 人 抬 出 ？ 』 」

In order not to let Ah Mui see all those unhappy news, she has instructed the maids at home not to let her see newspaper with related reports, and will turn off the TV when such news were reported.  She said: [If Ah Mui sees it, she will be very mad and would scolded: " What's wrong, so many cars below my place, want to see me being carried out?"]

此 外 ， 演 藝 人 協 會 昨 午 在 洲 際 酒 店 舉 行 執 委 投 票 選 舉 ， 以 便 數 周 後 再 選 出 新 一 屆 會 長 ，  會 長 阿 梅 沒 有 出 現 。 對 於 阿 梅 缺 席 ，阿 梅 早 前 並 以 休 養 為 由 ， 向 演 協 表 明 立 場 ， 棄 權 參 選 新 一 屆 演 協 會 長 職 務 。 大 姐 明 和 學 友 均 表 示 體 諒 ， 大 姐 明 說 ： 「 大 家 好 明 白 阿 梅 要 多 休 息 ， 近 日 天 氣 轉 凍 ， 佢 唔 出 席 會 比 較 好 。 其 實 我 一 直 有 跟 進 阿 梅 病 情 ， 有 同 佢 電 話 聯 絡 ， 而 阿 梅 已 經 同 我 講 ， 話 唔 會 再 做 下 一 屆 會 長 ， 大 家 都 好 明 白 佢 要 休 養 。 不 過 阿 梅 仍 然 好 關 心 會 務 ， 只 要 需 要 她 幫 手 時 ， 她 做 到 的 ， 都 會 幫 手 。」

Besides, the Gild of Performing Artistes had their annual election yesterday.  Ah Mui was absent from the meeting and also said before that she would not be candidate for the chair woman for next year as she needs time for rest.  Tai Jei Ming said: [We all understand that.  Also the weather is getting so cold recently, it is better for her to stay at home instead of coming here for the meeting.  Also she needs more rest, so she will not join the election be our next chair woman.  We understand she needs more time for rest.  However she still cares about everything, and she promises to give help whenever there is need.]
(其實癌症病人一直要出出入入醫院也是很平常的事, 所以也沒有甚麼恐怖.  有病當然要入醫院醫啦.  但時有些不清不楚的解釋更恐怖.  譬如:阿梅自己連報紙也不會拿來看, 電視也不會開咩?   講多錯多.  算了, 現在記者喜歡寫散文, 或者有些人又比較適合去幼稚院講故仔.  可惜我又關心阿梅, 所以被逼天天要看無聊的娛樂版.......終之, 阿梅有病, 需要多休息.  不要再逞強.  一定要聽醫生話, 乖乖養好病再出來見我們.  我天天都會想到妳, 天天都會祝福妳盡快康復!  

Actually it is quite normal for a cancer patient to go to the hospital, in and out all the time.  So there should be no fear for us to know that.  If really sick, of course has to go to hospital for treatment.  No use to stay at home.  But sometimes those unclear explanation or excuses cause more fear and doubts to the readers, e.g.  Does Ah Mui  know how to get newspaper to read, does she have charge of the  TV program she wants to watch.  So talk more, more mistake is made.  Anyway, nowadays reporters are more interested in writing short stories, or perhaps someone is more suitable to work telling stories in kindergarten.  But my greatest regret is that I have to read all those senseless entertainment news every day. As I like Ah Mui and the only source of information about her is from  newspaper......sigh...........In short, Ah Mui is an invalid, she needs more rest.  Hope she doesn't try to be strong, must listen to the doctor.  Have ample rest and get a speed recovery, and then appear in public function again.  I will think about her everyday,  keep her in my daily prayer, and send her blessings for a speed recovery!)

秘密留院另有病因
阿梅抗癌傷肝化療後遺症

Ah Mui secretly in hospital, liver problem due to side effects of cancer treatment

梅艷芳日前秘密入院，據知並非因癌病惡化，只是接受抗癌療程後所出現的副作用及後遺症，影響肝臟正常功能，故需要作出醫治，續與病魔作戰。

Anita Mui went to the hospital secretly days ago.  It is said not because her cancer got worse, it is because of the side effect from cancer treatment, her liver can't function properly.  That is why she has to be hospitalized and continued to fight against ailment.

After Ah Mui returned from Japan, she was told by her doctor to stop working completely.  She hasn't been seen in public for 3 weeks.  It was said that she had been to the hospital secretly for several times, her health condition becomes the focus.  It is said Ah Mui went to the hospital days ago.  Last Friday, that night HK Radio held the [Best 10 Classic songs Award Presentation], Andy Hui didn't get any award so he decided not to attend the function.  Instead he asked his friends for dinner and then went to see Ah Mui in the hospital, to encourage her.

Fortunately, Ah Mui's cancer didn't get worse.  Though cancer has been under control, due to side effects of medicine, her liver function is affected, so she has to go under treatment.  It is said besides medication, doctor suggests her to get her liver washed.  Ah Mui is still thinking about it, her friends all wishes she will accept this treatment - washing of her liver.

Her friends know that she likes more people around her, so they often go to keep her company.  But they don't like people to know, so all go through secret passage when they go to visit her.  And their greatest duty is to ask Mui to take medicine.  She feels that she can conquer the cancer germs, the present health condition is minor problem, and sometimes she would not take medicine.  Her friends have to persuade her to take medicine.

(Since everything is kept so secretly,  how can this newspaper know so much, even such small details?  So either this Moon Paper is making stories, or someone close to Mui is selling news to this newspaper group.......sigh.......Mui'd be very carefully la. Also Mui is in the hospital, the nurse would watch her taking medicines.  Anyway, if whatever written by this paper is true, I really hope Mui will be more sensible, take medicines on time.  Liver plays a very important function in our body.  )

However Marianne said Ah Mui is resting at home: [Ah Mui is okay.  Don't try to stir up fear.  She is not in the hospital, she is resting at home.  If in the hospital, so many reporters waiting at her residence, how they didn't know?]

(If Mui is really sick, it is better to stay in the hospital for treatment. )

Besides, Pansy Ho was at a function, and said: [Ah Mui is resting at home.  She worked to hard recently, she is still very weak.]

Eric Tsang has been very busy for Little Black's funeral, he said: [Anita Mui wanted to attend the memorial ceremony, but I worry about her health, so told her not to come.  She had given money too.]

前晚在溫州舉行的《交叉點服飾緣分之夜》晚會，參與演出的有伍佰、何潤東、蔡依林等，大會公布阿梅亦會出席，並聲言已為阿梅訂下總統套房。到了開場前，主持人還表示阿梅會到，但最後阿梅並沒現身，主持人就在台上公開讀了一封說是阿梅的來信，解釋自己因為身體問題缺席，祝晚會順利舉行。由於現場有不少觀眾是為捧阿梅場而來，故大會讓觀眾在開場後半小時內退票離開。

The night before there was a concert in WonChow.  It was said that Ah Mui would be present, but till the concert started, then MC announced that Ah Mui wold not be there due to health problem.

　大陸有消息指阿梅方面曾向主辦單位呈交了一封醫生證明書，證明阿梅因為經過長時間化療，頭髮脫落、臉部浮腫、身體亦欠佳，加上天氣冷，怕阿梅患上感冒後會影響病情，故不能參加演出。有指大會可能會向阿梅追究今次損失。

The organizer also produced a letter from Ah Mui's doctor certified that after chemo treatment, her hair is falling off, her face got swollen, health not good, also too cold.  Worrying that her condition would be affected if she catches cold, so she could not come.  The organizer reserves the right to sue Ah Mui for the loss.

　Marianne承認有關方面曾邀請阿梅參加演出，並於兩個月前經文化部出了批文，但阿梅根本沒有答應參加，亦沒有收過訂金。對於賠償一事，她說：「約都冇簽過，賠咩償？」她承認曾就此事去信文化部解釋過阿梅的情況是不適宜離開香港，但這封信並非給主辦單位，故她亦不想多作解釋。

Marianne admitted that Ah Mui got invited, but Ah Mui never agreed to attend this function, and never accepted any deposit, so why has to pay compensation.  She said: [never signed any contract, compensate for what?]  She admitted they have sent letter to cultural department explaining that Ah Mui can't leave Hong Kong, but not the organizer.  She didn't like to explain further.

(It is not good to Ah Mui's image even though she doesn't need to pay compensation,  as we all know she was being used by those organizers for promotion.  I saw the news in website of China that Ah Mui would be present at the concert, that was days before the concert started, and her picture and name was in the promotion poster.  Would it be better to stop the organizer using Ah Mui for promotion before hand if she had decided not to go long time ago?)

When asked if Ah Mui would take up the role in [Ambush], she said: [Actually we are still thinking about it.  Too many people ask Ah Mui not to go.  The weather is so cold, all ask Ah Mui not to go out if nothing has to be done.  Mainland is colder than HK.  What happens if she gets sick due to cold weather?  I think we will decide in a week, then we will let all people know about it.]  It seems that Ah Mui already decided not to take up the role in this international film.

梅 艷 芳 母 親 等 前 晚 到 尖 沙 嘴 出 席 「 第 三 屆 香 港 石 雕 展 」 。 梅 艷 芳 母 親 提 到 阿 梅 身 體 狀 況 時 說 ： 「 佢 冇 ， 要 多 休 息 ，佢 而 家 休 息 緊 ， 好 多 人 都 好 錫 佢 好 照 顧 佢 ， 因 為 佢 唔 想 出 街 ， 想 休 息 多 ， 就 成 日 叫 我 去 多 街 ， 叫 我 出 去 飲 茶 行 街 咁 囉 ！ （ 咁 你 唔 留 屋 企 陪 阿 梅 多 ？ ） 唔 使 陪 啦 ， 佢 要 有 多 時 間 休 息 嘛 ！  」 

Anita Mui's mother was at a stone carving exhibition.  When she was asked about the health condition of Ah Mui, she said: [No problem, just needs more rest.  Now she is at home resting.  Many people care about her.  She doesn't like to go out, wants to rest more.  But she always ask me to go out more often, shopping or dining out. (Why you don't stay at home keeping her company?) No need, she needs time to rest ma!]

When asked if she cooks Chinese soup or bird's nest for Ah Mui, Mui Ma said: [Plenty people cook soup for her, plenty bird's nest for her to eat.  When mentioned she was too tired for the trip to Japan, Ah Mui sounded not happy and said: [You get tired too if you travel.  Such long trip and also so cold.  Nonesense.]

另 外 ，張藝謀的助手甘露向大陸記者表示，今次有份到重慶拍攝的演員還包括劉德華及金城武，至於梅艷芳是否也會到該處參與拍攝工作？她透露阿梅應該不會到。

Besides, the assistant of Zhang Yee Mou told the reporters of mainland China, besides Zhang Zhi Yee, Andy Lau and King Shing Mou will be filmed in Sichuan too.  When asked if Ah Mui will have to go there to join them for the filming, she said probably not.

由 張 藝 謀 執 導 的 電 影 《 十 面 埋 伏 》 演 變 成 羅 生 門 。 主 角 之 一 的 梅 艷 芳 曾 表 示 遲 遲 未 能 拍 攝 ， 是 因 未 接 到 張 藝 謀 通 知 ， 而 劉 德 華 則 稱 阿 梅 要 等 他 有 檔 期 才 能 拍 攝 ， 但 昨 日 張 藝 謀 卻 公 開 表 示 其 實 他 正 在 等 阿 梅 。

About [Ambush], Anita Mui said she didn't go to Beijing, because never got notice; Andy Lau said she is waiting for him; but yesterday Zhang Yee Mou said he is waiting for Ah Mui.

電 影 《 十 面 埋 伏 》 由 劉 德 華 、 章 子 怡 、 金 城 武 、 梅 艷 芳 等 主 演 ， 不 過 阿 梅 的 戲 份 一 直 未 拍 攝 ， 有 傳 阿 梅 因 為 身 體 不 適 ， 可 能 會 辭 演 該 戲 ， 但 阿 梅 則 聲 稱 是 要 等 張 藝 謀 通 知 拍 攝 日 期 。 阿 梅 的 好 友 劉 德 華 ， 則 表 示 阿 梅 遲 遲 未 能 開 拍 該 戲 ， 原 因 是 阿 梅 的 戲 份 全 部 是 和 華 仔 一 起 拍 ， 故 要 等 自 己 的 檔 期 ， 可 是 華 仔 在 這 個 聖 誕 卻 因 為 要 去 美 國 登 台 ， 所 以 抽 不 出 檔 期 拍 攝 。

Ah Mui's part for this movie has never started shooting.  It is said due to health condition, Ah Mui won't take up this job anymore.  But Ah Mui said she is waiting notice from ZYM when to start.  Andy Lau said her part has to be with him, so she has to wait for him, but he has to go to  the States during X'mas for shows.  

冇 後 備 取 代 阿 梅
不 過 ， 昨 日 下 午 張 藝 謀 出 席 在 北 京 舉 行 的 長 城 潤 滑 油 廣 告 記 者 會 時 ， 則 表 示 《 十 》 片 已 拍 了 五 分 之 四 ， 現 時 正 在 等 阿 梅 的 檔 期 ， 只 要 阿 梅 有 期 ， 便 隨 時 可 以 拍 。

However, yesterday afternoon ZYM at Beijing said that 80% of the movie already finished filming.  They are waiting for Ah Mui.  Once Ah Mui is available, they can start shooting right away.

張 藝 謀 說 ： 「 我 剛 從 片 場 過 來 ， 電 影 已 經 拍 了 五 分 之 四 ， 還 差 五 分 之 一 ， 梅 艷 芳 的 戲 份 還 沒 拍 ， 我 得 到 的 訊 息 是 她 沒 有 檔 期 ， 並 不 是 因 為 身 體 不 好 或 者 不 滿 意 價 錢 。 我 們 不 會 因 此 而 改 變 計 劃 ， 只 要 她 的 檔 期 合 適 便 可 立 即 開 拍 ， 目 前 劇 組 並 沒 有 其 他 的 候 選 人 代 替 梅 艷 芳 ， 這 套 戲 預 計 明 年 年 初 拍 完 ， 然 後 去 國 外 做 後 期 ， 應 該 上 半 年 可 以 推 出 ， 不 會 拖 到 下 半 年 。 」

He said: [I just came back from the filming factory.  We finished 80% already, only 20% left.  Anita Mui's part hasn't been filmed yet.  The news I got is that she has no time, it is not because of health or pay.  We won't change our original plan.  As soon as she is available, we will start shooting right away.  Right now, we don't have anyone else to replace her.  We estimate that we will finish filming this movie at the beginning of this year.  Then the final work will be done overseas.  It will be shown the first half of next year. won't be the 2nd half.]

望 打 入 世 界 市 場
張 藝 謀 表 示 希 望 自 己 所 拍 的 電 影 不 單 止 能 夠 參 加 各 國 的 電 影 節 ， 更 加 可 以 走 進 全 世 界 的 電 影 巿 場 。

He said he hopes that his films will not only be able to compete at all international film festivals, but be able to have international markets too.

Ah Mui will not work for [Ambush]

梅 艷 芳 接 拍 電 影 《 十 面 埋 伏 》 後 ， 她 身 邊 的 好 友 紛 紛 極 力 反 對 ， 早 前 張 學 友 、 劉 德 華(?????) 、 梁 家 輝 更 挺 身 相 諫 阿 梅 辭 演 ， 據 知 ， 近 日 連 一 直 站 在 阿 梅 旁 邊 、 支 持 她 的 經 理 人 Marianne 也 投 反 對 票 ， 阿 梅 已 開 始 態 度 軟 化 ， 日 前 曾 向 電 影 公 司 提 出 辭 演 外 ， 還 把 未 來 數 月 的 工 作 全 部 推 掉 ， 專 心 在 家 中 休 養 。

After Anita Mui accepted to play a role in [Ambush], her friends all object to her decision.  Jacky Cheung, Andy Lau(????), Leung Kar Fai all persuade her not to work.  As it is known, even her manager Marianne votes against her working for the movie.  Ah Mui has already changed her mind, telling the movie company that she will not take up the job and decides to stay at home for the next few months, will not do any work anymore.

After Ah Mui admitted that she got cancer, all care about her and prayer about her.  She successfully finished all 8 shows of concert, but many people really worried so much for her during the shows.  Originally she is supposed to go filming in Sichuan for [Ambush], but the day for her to start has been changed for many times.  Also it is said the change is due to the unstable condition of Ah Mui.  However, Marianne denied that her condition is not stable, and yesterday there is newspaper saying Ah Mui's role already replaced by someone else.

But it is known Ah Mui really appreciates Zhang Mou Yee very much, to work with him is her wish, even sick still likes to make her wish come true.  But as more and more friends ask her not to work, now even her manager, Ah Mui is getting shaking.  Also as she still doesn't know when she will start to work, the weather in Sichuan is getting bitter cold, snowing and has ice.  Ah Mui is worrying that she can't stand the cold and will get sick.  So it is said that Ah Mui already informed the movie company that she will not take up the job anymore.  But it is not accepted by the boss of the company, and also said he would wait for the good news that Ah Mui would agree to work for the movie.  So Ah Mui can't make up her mind again, but it is said for 90% Ah Mui will not work for the movie.

對 於 以 上 傳 言 ， Marianne 坦 承 ： 「 阿 梅 的 確 係 將 近 期 工 作 全 部 推 晒 ， 我 亦 推 過 《 十 面 埋 伏 》 ， 但 江 先 生 （ 電 影 公 司 老 闆 ） 好 有 誠 意 仍 在 游 說 阿 梅 ， 不 過 ， 電 影 公 司 到 依 家 仲 未 畀 到 起 程 日 期 。 」

For all those news, Marianne said: [It is true that Ah Mui is not accepting work for the next few months.  We also told the film company that Mui will not work for [Ambush], but Mr Kiang (the boss) still is persuading Ah Mui.  But, till now the movie company still hasn't given the exact date when Ah Mui should go to work.]

感 染 風 寒 可 大 可 小
Marianne 又 指 出 ： 「 四 川 依 家 天 氣 太 凍 ， 空 氣 又 稀 薄 ， 大 家 都 擔 心 阿 梅 根 本 捱 唔 到 ， 而 阿 梅 亦 知 道 病 情 好 艱 難 至 受 到 控 制 ， 萬 一 受 到 風 寒 感 染 ， 病 情 好 容 易 復 發 。 」

She said: [Sichuan is getting very cold, and also less oxygen (due to high altitude).  All worry that Ah Mui can't stand it.  Ah Mui also knows that it is so difficult that she got her sickness under control.  If she gets cold, her sickness might re-occur.]

而 對 於 大 陸 有 報 章 指 她 接 受 該 報 訪 問 承 認 該 片 易 角 ， Marianne 鄭 重 澄 清 表 示 從 沒 有 接 受 任 何 大 陸 報 章 訪 問 ， 亦 從 沒 有 向 人 表 示 易 角 一 事 ， 但 她 講 笑 說 ： 「 係 易 角 都 唔 錯 ， 我 都 好 想 阿 梅 辭 演 。 」

As to the mainland newspaper mentioning that she admitted that the role is taken up by someone else, Marianne clarified that she has never accepted any interview from the mainland newspaper, but she said jokingly: [Not bad to be replace, I don't like Ah Mui to work for that movie.]
